A home can be defined in many ways. It's a residence, a family dwelling place, and often times a refuge from the outside world. It's made of walls, and windows, and doors, which can keep people out, keep people in, or open freely so all may enter and leave as they wish.


Kari Bengtson



Kari Bengtson was born in Oslo, Norway. She took her BA from University of Brighton (UK) in 2003 and recently graduated with an MFA from Bergen National Academy of the Arts (Norway).
Bengtson works in photography, collage and text with a focus on portaiture, the ephemeral and the private experience. Her works range from diary related assemblage to straight photography and text based projects exploring her interest in queer theory, female representation and the autobiography.
Bengtson is currently based in Oslo.
